(no subject)

I swear I don't mean to keep disappearing. Damn life keeps getting in the way. Need to do something about that.

However! My absence has yielded a few results, the ones I care to mention being:

- I've watched the entire first season of Skins (someone please tell me why there are NO good icons from this show ANYWHERE. I desperately need icons of a few key moments.) I really kind of love the show overall (um, canon slash? I am always easily swayed by such things) but ok, this is going to sound really dumb, but I always get kind of a claustrophobic feeling when I watch British shows. Am I the only one? It's not ALL British shows, but most of them. I don't know if it's the way they're filmed or if the houses/buildings there are actually that cramped, but I always feel like everything is too small. So, it's my own weirdness contributing to me not loving the show as much as I could.

- My brother talked me into watching the whole first season of Psych. Well, he talked me into watching the first few episodes, and then he got tired and went to bed and I stayed up until eight in the morning finishing the season. >.> Someone please tell me I'm not the only one who likes Gus more than Shawn? Not that I dislike Shawn, but I sort of want a Gus all to myself. Especially if he wore the band uniform all the time. :D I have talked myself out of writing Shawn/Gus and Lassiter/Shawn several times over the past week. I might only be talking myself out of the Lassiter/Shawn because I can't stop thinking of Lassiter as that crazy Irish leprechaun from The Luck of the Irish. What? That was an awesome movie, hokai, I don't care if it was a Disney Channel original or not. Plus Ryan Merriman is hot. I still have that movie on a VHS tape somewhere.

- I started watching Meadowlands. CREEPTASTIC. Seriously. Shannon, I know you're watching this. WRITE ME FIC. (I know I have no right to ask that considering I still haven't read the Hamiltons fic, but um, still. I know out of everyone you would kick ass at writing fic for this.)

- I watched some new movies, which is a rarity. Mr. Brooks (lame but watchable if only for the surprise that was Dane Cook playing a creepy guy with untamed facial hair), Premonition (lame but watchable because Sandra Bullock has been my older woman crush since Speed) and Perfect Stranger (totally lame but watchable if only for Nicki Aycox and Giovanni Ribisi, who surprises me every single time with how hot he really is.)

- I cleaned out my storage unit, which was packed full of everything I couldn't fit in here when I broke up with Allen and moved out of the house. Lots of furniture, but so much miscellaneous crap you wouldn't believe it. The best part? Was probably when I was digging through some bags of stuffed animals, figuring out which ones I wanted to keep and which ones I wanted to donate, and finding a little furry mouse that I didn't remember having, and then realizing that it was actually a DEAD MOUSE. And then finding another one. Of all the bags they could have curled up and died in. GOOD JOKE, MICE.

- I discovered that the owner of the Chinese place in town stalks my sister. Allen and I went there to eat the other day, and the guy was walking by our table, stops dead in his tracks, and comes back to say, "Your sister was just in here." And I'm like, "..." because really, I don't know this guy, like at all, and he doesn't know me, so WTF? And I'm like, "Um. Yeah, she comes in here a lot." He said she was with a friend, and I said she comes in with my brother sometimes, and the whole time I'm just thinking WTFWTFWTFWTF, because there's really no way he should be able to link us, even if he knows her name, because Allen and I always pay in cash, and I've never even had a conversation with this guy, and WTF. And THEN he goes, "You live in Maple Heights, right?" Which is our neighborhood, and I'm just like, "...yes." *concentrates intently on chicken fried rice and hopes he goes away* It worked. Allen says Ashley and I look enough alike that we could be identified as sisters, but still. Like, uh, there are probably lots of people in town that look enough like us that they could be our sisters. IT WAS V. V. WEIRD. My brother told me later that the guy is always hovering around her when she goes in to eat and staring at her chest. Nice.

- Saw the fireworks, got hit by falling debris. Good times.

- Went swimming/laying out in the sun, and did not burn. I did re-apply the sunscreen every ten minutes, I kid you not, but it is the first time I didn't burn in like, two years. So. Paranoia works.

- Made fake Facebook accounts for Robert Loggia and Chuck Norris (whose real name, I found out, is Carlos Ray Norris. Who knew?) They are friends with my brother and sister's fake Craig T. Nelson and Bob Saget, and my cousin's account for Jamie Hyneman's Mustache. You guys, I know me having a Facebook account wasn't all that much of a lure for you to get one, but really, if you're bored and need something to keep you occupied, get an account and friend these accounts. They are v. v. fun, I promise. Robert Loggia has an obsession with toast and insists that he played the dinosaur in A Night At the Museum. He is a crazy old coot.

- Oh my gosh this is getting long.

- I missed a few birthdays while I was away, boo! I've been wanting to see "Premonition," but the only good thing is Sandra Bullock? Well, I guess that makes it worth it, but I was hoping it'd be good.

[identity profile] quarterturn.livejournal.com 2007-07-10 10:45 am (UTC)(link)
I was really looking forward to it, too, but it ended up being kind of contrived and confusing, in my opinion. Like, it was an interesting concept, but it never even attempts to explain why it's all happening. I think it's worth watching for the entertainment value, but it definitely wasn't anything great. :(

YOU! *clings* I have missed you. Hope you didn't get hurt by the falling debris??

I'm currently in the OMG CRAZYCAKES exam week but I still seem to have time to watch an episode of Heroes here and there. Of course since I'm waaaaay too tired for them, I end up writing stuff like I KNOW WHAT SYLAR REMINDS ME OF! A Koala bear. Awww. A drugged one too. Thank you Mohinder. Drugged Koalas are the best. in my notes for Parasite. *facepalm*

Well seems like we came back from hiatus together. Great to see you here again !

I think I need to watch Skins asap !

And you need to watch Life on Mars because John Simms is OMG ! (He's my new obsession I guess lol)

[identity profile] slowtuesdays.livejournal.com 2007-07-10 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I've only seen a few random eps of Psych, but I definitely liked it enough to want to see more! And I'm glad you finally watched Skins!

Ew with the mouse thing! That's pretty gross. And wow, that guy at the Chinese place is creepy. Ugh, those kind of stalkerish stories makes me shudder.

[identity profile] whirligigged.livejournal.com 2007-07-10 01:14 pm (UTC)(link)
kdl;fjdsafkeysmash, you're back! HULLO.

I haven't watched very many British shows, I will admit. But those I have watched by accident on television all seem to take place inside? And sometimes with rather poor camera quality, or something - I don't know how to place it. There is something DIFFERENT about them, different from American shows. I remember when I first saw Doctor Who, something struck me as different, but of course now I fuck all can't possibly remember, because I've seen enough episodes that whatever it was seems perfectly normal now.

OMG JESS I COULD CRY. I've asked so many people if they remember that movie, AND NOBODY DID. I was on the verge of wondering if I imagined it, perhaps in some attempt to recapture my Irish heritage by hallucinating basketball playing leprechauns - IDK, honestly, but I saw Lassiter and was like WTF EVIL LEPRECHAUN YOU GUYS, and my one friend who even watches the show was like, um, Lisa, I have no idea what you are talking about. Also when I was young and foolish and wanted to fit in, because everyone seemed to do that and swoon about Shayne West and Johnathon Jackson, so I was like OKAY I WILL HAVE CELEBRITY CRUSHES AS WELL, and that kid, the main character, he was ALWAYS at least in the top ten of my list, lmao. And, yes, I literally made a list, because apparently otherwise I'd never even remember who I was attracted to. :P

Clearly your mice were like, YEAH I'M TOTALLY IN THE THROES OF DEATH, LET'S PLAY A PRACTICAL JOKE ON JESS LAWLZ. Those crazy mice.

Yeah, okay, that whole sister incident just sounds creepy and skeevy and HELLO CHECK PLZ.

SO LIKE MEADOWLANDS FIC? A TOTALLY GOOD IDEA. i just need to find a boy for mark. because he cannot be with creepy older women. HE NEEDS A MAN. though, i could probably get some mileage out of the almost!rape by jack donnelly, right?

HI JESS HI!!

I <3 <3 <3 <3 Psych. And I'm liking Meadowlands and it's creeptasticness a loooot. YAY TV!

[identity profile] stiletto.livejournal.com 2007-07-10 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't picture Chuck as a Carlos, just can't and it kind of makes me laugh trying.

And none of those shows rings a bell except for Psych and that is only because I see the box in Target all the time. XD

[identity profile] anniemoon.livejournal.com 2007-07-10 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I ALSO LIKE GUS MORE THAN SHAWN! *flail* Okay, I will calm down now. But it's seriously difficult to find other Gus > Shawn fans. I love Shawn but Gus is made of so much win. \o/

I have no Psych icon so instead, a CSI: Miami icon just for you. :D

[identity profile] ladyalcamy.livejournal.com 2007-07-10 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
You're back! *hugs you to pieces* :D

AND YOU'RE WATCHING MEADOWLANDS!
"Creeptastic", exactly! That's the word I've been searching for! XD
I actually had a few moments where I was close to saying "Ok, I'm out" to save my sanity, but it just keeps sucking me back in again.

I've heard how awesome both Skins and Psych are countless times now. I think it's probably time to give those two a try. :)

Awwww, thanks for the birthday wishes! *hugs again*

[identity profile] ladyalcamy.livejournal.com 2007-07-17 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Aaah! She's stalking me! Sylar, get her! ;)
I'll definitely give it a try once my exams are over.

[identity profile] subtle--sarcasm.livejournal.com 2007-07-17 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, Sylar, get me! *sits and waits*

yaaay, can't wait to hear what you think :) ♥

Psych looks like it could be a really fun show. Maybe I'll download the first season at some point...

Ewwwwwwwww to the mouse in a box situation. Seriously, of all the boxes. Yuck.

The stalker guy sounds creepy. :/

[identity profile] dementedlove.livejournal.com 2007-07-11 04:58 am (UTC)(link)

Eeek dead mice in bags of stuffed animals! How evil of them!

The owner of that Chinese place sounds pretty creepy. :/

[identity profile] maechi.livejournal.com 2007-07-12 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
I've only seen a portion of Premonition, but I think I can get behind what you're saying. (Gah, the portion I saw had to do with the hearse, and the casket, and .... ick.)

Dude, falling debris? You okay?

Thanks for remembering my birthday! ♥

I've missed you too! I'm just glad that you're doing okay. *HUGS*

I started to watch Skins, I really need to finish watching soon. So far I liked it. :)

PSYCH IS SO VERY AWESOME!!! AND IT'S BACK! NEW SEASON! OMG YAY!

Ooooh, I wanted to start Meadowlands, but I never get around to it. What exactly is it about, anyway? To be honest, I only wanted to watch because I thought the title was pretty. < /insane>

finding a little furry mouse that I didn't remember having, and then realizing that it was actually a DEAD MOUSE.

*loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool* that is at once so creepy and so hilarious :D :D :D having two cats who have a cat-door through which they can come and go as they please, I am very used to finding dead mice, but they haven't stored them among my stuffed animals yet :D :D :D :D

O_O omgwtf @sisterstalking. SO creepy wtf?

*clings*
