sucker love is heaven sent

Tagged by [livejournal.com profile] psychotic_scam, six things you probably don't know about me.

1. I dream about alligators. Big ones. That try to eat me or people I love. A lot.
2. I sneeze at least once every time I eat something especially minty. Mostly Altoids.
3. My brother and I have conversations on a regular basis about things like how Reba McIntyre and Chris Jericho are orangutans and trying to take over the world, and we do it totally straight-faced.
4. I can inflict severe pain using just my toes.
5. The smell of Spaghetti-os and canned ravioli makes me nauseous (although I can eat both without a problem.)
6. I refuse to swim in anything except swimming pools because I'm terrified that even though it would defy logic, there are sharks in the water. Or if not sharks, at least dead bodies and their decaying flesh would get on me.

I am far too lazy to tag anyone specifically today. You should all do it because I'm terribly nosy.

I've been reading a lot of Alias fic lately, ok. (And my undying gratitude to [livejournal.com profile] mooyoo for links!) Mostly just stuff where Sark is involved, and mostly just slash. Although I have to admit that Sark/Lauren pings me pretty hard, and I don't even mind Sark/Sydney in small doses. Sark/Vaughn, or Sark/Will, or even Sark/Weiss, though? MAKES ME FEEL LIKE MY BRAIN IS SIZZLING IN MY SKULL. There are some really good pieces that I feel I must share, even if like, only two people on my list even care.

- Super-villains of the World Unite! by [livejournal.com profile] hackthis. It's a Smallville/Alias/Spiderman/HP/JLA/DC Comics/Marvel crossover, pretty crackalicious, but it's SARK. In the same room as LEX. With implied SLASHINESS. And it's written so well, and I love it.

- This Ain't a Scene, It's a Goddamn Arms Race by [livejournal.com profile] hackthis. It's an Alias/Burn Notice crossover, Sark/Michael, and listen. I don't even watch Burn Notice. I saw the pilot, so I knew who the main guy was, but other than that? Nope. And this fic is still amazing.

([livejournal.com profile] hackthis is one of my favorites, she always seems to write in fandoms I enjoy and she's brilliant, but I kind of fangirl from afar. She has Kitchen Confidential fic, I mean, come on. Brilliant.)

- Somewhere Along the Way, And Then Again, and Having by Brix. Sark/Weiss, in this really kind of creepy, very Sark-like way that ends up being totally cute and romantic and yet somehow totally still in character.

- Like Walking On Knives by Auburn. Gen, Sark-centric, and it's long, but it's so freaking good. I don't know when it was written, sometime before we got a lot of information about Sark from the show, I'm guessing, so this kind of fills in the blanks. It's detailed and engrossing and wonderful, and I can't say too much about what's it's about or I'll give away the surprise, but it's definitely worth the read. The coda to the story is The Way We'll Go, and it's just as worth it.

- Worn by otter, Will/Vaughn. I didn't think much of the pairing until I read this, but it works so well in the context of their grief. Even without the slash aspect, it is a beatiful and heartbreaking piece about Will and Vaughn struggling with Sydney's death.

- Going Down by [livejournal.com profile] tigertrapped, Vaughn/Will, stuck in an elevator and thinking naughty thoughts about Sark. Oh yes.

- Down Among the Dead Men by [livejournal.com profile] tigertrapped, Vaughn/Sark, Will/Sark, and so very deliciously dark and disturbing. Vaughn gets a hold of Sark and exorcises his personal demons, Will hangs around.

- The Biter Bit by [livejournal.com profile] tigertrapped, Alias/Spooks crossover, Sark/Jools Siviter, Sark/Vaughn. Sark goes undercover for the CIA, dressed up to fit his mark's proclivities. I read this first without ever having seen an episode of Spooks, and as soon as I read it, I had to go find the episodes with Jools. It was a great read both before and after I knew who the guy was. If you haven't seen Spooks, just know that Jools is played by Hugh Laurie. :D

- Caveat Emptor by [livejournal.com profile] tigertrapped, Sark-centric gen. Jack takes Sark into his own custody and tries to get some answers, Eric Weiss plays babysitter.

Really anything by [livejournal.com profile] tigertrapped is probably a safe bet, I haven't read anything of hers I haven't liked, and in fact, I've read the ones I've recced above at least three times each in the past couple of weeks. Down Among the Dead Men, The Biter Bit, and Caveat Emptor are probably my very favorite Alias fics ever, and I've read a good number of them recently.

And one Heroes rec, which I found while catching up tags in [livejournal.com profile] heroes_fic, and totally off topic, but I put up a poll there yesterday to gauge tags usage, and I am kind of pathetically happy that so far it seems like people actually use tags in the manner I had intended.

- Five Games Sylar Never Played by [livejournal.com profile] sameoldhope. Gen, and just really brilliant. The writing, characterizations, just everything, I really really love this. I honestly don't even know how to explain this fic well enough to entice you to read it, but you really should.

As brought to my attention by [livejournal.com profile] lucentliz, the BBC promos for Heroes, which are gorgeous and I love them a lot. Claire, Bennet, Nathan. ETA: And Peter, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] kerri_is_dead.

Also, kind of late mentioning it, but I got the most adorable Thanksgiving card from [livejournal.com profile] uneedmerchant. It has pumpkin pie on the cover! Yumyumyum. Thank you, sugar. ♥

Yeah, you should get it checked out just to make sure it's benign. That's part of the reason they removed mine.,..well,I pretended I was afraid it was cancerous, when really I just wanted the fucking thing off of me. The great thing about living in Canada? They do it for free lol

Ugh, and they are all slimy and they have beady eyes and they eat their own poo, like EWWW.
