Those of you who've been around a while might remember my Mustachioed Pistachio and friends posts from a while ago. Well, there's pretty much nobody more awesome than

subtle__sarcasm right now, because look what she drew:

I should probably hire her to do the illustrations when I get around to writing that series, as long as she'll work for love and glitter, because that is an amazing representation, and she even has him saying what I said he'd say.

That has pretty much put me in a fantabulous mood even though it's six-thirty in the morning, I haven't slept, they are predicting another storm just as bad as the last one for tomorrow, and

catalyst2 passed along some less than awesome news about the premiere date of season two of Dexter.

Based on a promo poster for season two being sold on Ebay, it's not premiering until December 21st. WTF. Seriously. I know it must take a while to make something filled with as much awesome as Dexter is, but a year? THAT IS SO LONG. I guess I will be re-watching season one and reading as much fanfic as I can get my hands on. And maybe writing it. Because I have this Brian/Dexter AU stuck in my head that will not go away. But it would be long. And I have zero attention span.

Ok, I know by now when I say 'Black Donnellys friending meme' you are all collectively rolling your eyes, but I keep getting comments on that thing and it amazes me, so I pimped it again and you guys should go check out all the new people on there and make more friends. Maybe you will get as lucky as I did and find someone who leaves you comment porn on the same night the show premieres. Yeah, that's my not-so-subtle way of poking you guys to go read

i already wrote one (http://theyscreamofyou.livejournal.com/11287.html), i'd just be writing a sequel. OR! a completely different one, but i'd definitely have to, like, watch all the episodes of dexter again, because i haven't seen it in a loooong time. <333

*saves to read soon* I really need to get caught up on the Dexter fic available, because I was avoiding it for months. I just got caught up like three days ago, I had been putting off watching the last few episodes because I didn't want it to be over. :(

i loved and hated the ending at the same time. which is kinda why i wrote that fic, but there's definite last episode spoilers there.

I've seen all the episodes, but it wasn't until just in the past few days that I saw them. I kind of already knew what happened because I'm terrible at not staying away from spoilers, but I had half-convinced myself that I was just reading into things and Brian didn't actually die. I was v. v. disappointed about that. They could have done so much if they'd kept him alive, even if they wrote him off the show. I guess in a way I can understand it, since they probably wanted to drive home the fact that Dexter has no emotions and therefore wouldn't be attached to Brian enough to let him live for emotional reasons, but still. Have you read the book? I'll put this next bit in white just in case you haven't and don't want to be spoiled:

i haven't read the book, but i read, like, two sentences of it and realized i hated how he wrote. so, i'm not going to read any parts of the book at all. BUT, i would have LOVED for brian/rudy to stay on, just for the chance that he could come back any time ~~and bait dexter into having incestous sex~~. but i thought that was the only time dexter WAS emotional, when he was killing brian/rudy. i mean, he sort of cried, right?

i don't mind being spoiled, though, what did the show NOT take from the book?

I'm cautiously thinking the eBay poster (which seems to have been removed or already sold, since I can't find it on a search) was photoshopped. It just doesn't make sense to me that Showtime would screw over one of its most popular and critically acclaimed shows by premiering the second season right before the holidays, when nobody's watching much TV, and moving it to Friday nights rather than keeping it on its Sunday night home. Plus, the second season hasn't even started filming, so I find it hard to believe that promo posters have already been printed. Something just doesn't ring quite right to me with this.
