This is going to be a totally random entry, sorry, just warning you now.

So our power went out earlier, because the power company is running new, bigger lines around our neighborhood for the new ethanol plant (yay living directly under huge power lines! Cancer, \O/!) and of course, when our power goes out, my first instinct is to clean. Because really, when else am I going to do it? When we have power, I either want to be doing something on the computer or watching TV. And our power goes out often enough that it's a totally workable plan.

I think tonight my siblings, Allen, and I are going out to a cemetery and to this supposedly haunted house known only as "Hell." I don't even know. I've never heard of it and I've lived around here my whole life, but I suppose it's worth checking out. I told my sister and brother I didn't want to go unless Allen went, because he's one of those very skeptical, very logical people that does believe in the paranormal, but only when there's definite evidence, so he'll be pointing out that we're all idiots for getting scared and then I won't be as scared. :D Of course, I'd be much, much more enthused about going if I knew there was a chance I might run into a certain pair of brothers also doing some supernatural investigating... :D

Speaking of which! I watched the director's cuts for this weeks SPN, and ( my thoughts )

This is probably really lame of me to be so excited about, but I got my first non-flist (that I know of) rec today! Or found it today, at least. And I don't know if that's not something I should be as excited about as I am, but I'm pretty giddy and it means a lot to me, so. You know. If it's sad and lame, too bad. The weird thing is that it was for that Ryan/Kelly Office fic I wrote, which was my first (and probably only) fic in that fandom, and the first het fic I've posted for public consumption, so that's interesting. But also awesome!

And while we're on the subject, I have a couple recs of my own.

Before You Leave, 300, Gorgo/Leonidas, NC-17 by schneestern. Seriously, hot and gorgeous and wonderful. The character insight is fantastic, and the sex is smokin'.

another bag of bricks, The Black Donnellys, Tommy/Jenny, Tommy/Kate, Tommy/Kevin if you squint, ensemble, PG-13 by technosage. This is over ten thousand words, and it works better than an episode, in my opinion. The character voices are dead on, the tone is dark but funny in spots and bittersweet in others, just like the show, and the plot is believable and moves quick enough that when you hit the end, you really won't believe you've just read an eleven thousand-word story.

Also! The porning is ON over at justthatdirty for the Heroes pornathon, so you should probably go write something hot and dirty and kinky.

I have a billion million things to be doing, and things I owe people and e-mails and comments to get back to, and like, ten trillion pages of my flist to catch up with (which, just so you know, will never happen, but I am aiming to get back to commenting regularly, so if I missed something important, let me know) but right now I'm gonna go shower (because yeah, I'm kinda skanky like that and haven't showered yet today) and possibly finish cleaning since I'm in the mood now and find something to eat!

I tried to make a voicepost to you know. Voice my displeasure at the cancellation of TBD. But I sounded really dumb and like I had been crying, which I haven't, actually, I just can't seem to shake the last vestiges of my cold from two weeks ago.

So instead, I am making this post, in which I say I AM VERY DISPLEASED ABOUT THE CANCELLATION OF THE BLACK DONNELLYS. Thanks, NBC.

And now I am drinking tequila and Cherry Coke, because dammit someone drank all the orange juice so I can't make myself a tequila sunrise. But I think I used way too much tequila because it's basically like, a tall shot. And carbonated. I don't know. It's making me shudder every time I take a drink, but it's tequila so it's like, *shudder* Mmmm. *shudder* Mmmm. Thanks, NBC, for forcing me to the booze.

Tomorrow I will be prodding you all to go write TBD fic in remembrance. There should be like a deathfic challenge to commemorate the cancellation. Somebody has to die in it, doesn't matter how. Preferably death by porn.

So. I guess according to thefutoncritic.com, The Black Donnellys is going on hiatus as of April 23rd. NBC, FTL! How do you do an inverted YAY arms? /O\? Those are BOO arms. I hate to be pessimistic about it, but we've all known the numbers have sucked for a while, so I'm not holding my breath for a return.

Also, why is more of my flist not talking about this? ( super hella major SPN finale spoiler - I'm going to write it in white, too, so you can comment on other stuff if you feel the need )

To add a little levity to my day comes my girl Pam, dementedlove, with whom I'm talking to about future RP ventures, and I mention that I'd RP anything in the world with her, and off the top of my head I say I would RP Three's Company. And she comes back with this:

Heh, didn't post about The Black Donnellys last night, and I only just remembered it now, as I'm about to go to bed. I don't know, guys. It didn't hold my attention as much as I would have liked, but I've been in a really weird mood the past couple of days, so that might be why.

There was one part near the beginning that I really loved and wanted to make note of, but gah. My brain is not cooperating this morning.

It also did not help that I put noodles on to boil before the show started so I could make chicken noodle casserole and then like, five minutes before the show ended I was like, oh right. Noodles. So...not so much edible. Sorry about that, pot. I will have to scrub you clean later.

Random, but who's the guy that plays Samson? He looks ridiculously familiar, and I can't place him. And of course IMDB is withholding. It can be a coy bitch like that sometimes.

Um, let's see. What else. Is anyone here on the scoop_from_joey team? And if you are, do you know what's going on with that? I'm pretty anxious to see it go live. I don't know, I have a thing for newsletters. It makes things seem all neat and organized and official.

Also, you guys. I know you are getting all psyched up about St. Patrick's Day, so take like ten minutes to head over to tbd_stpaddys and leave us some drabbles or icons or something. It is very lonely over there. PLUS. There is a freaking ADORABLE picture someone made of Jenny, Tommy, and Joey Ice Cream in Powerpuff Girl-style. So go look at that and then stick around.

I'm pretty sure I got the best Big Sister in the world out of terraneanblues' Big/Little project. You guys. m_and_m_wars, FTW. Best idea for a community ever, Y/Y? And there's already a post in there, with some awesome M&M depictions that totally blow my M&M wars out of the water. This should be motivation for you all to go buy some candy, play with it for a while, take some pictures, and then eat the candy. Is that really too much to ask? Am I a terrible friend for wanting to encourage candy-eating? Probably. I probably just want you all to get fat and have cavities.

And my big sister also gave me this while incorporating The Black Donnellys into the comment, so, you know. She pretty much wins. I ♥ you, big sister, if you're reading.

And speaking of charity, there's a pretty nifty one called Sweet Charity that's more fandom based, and the proceeds go to RAINN (The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network.) A bunch of pretty awesome people have offered their services up for auction, writers, graphics artists, etc. A few I recognized are -

I should probably hire her to do the illustrations when I get around to writing that series, as long as she'll work for love and glitter, because that is an amazing representation, and she even has him saying what I said he'd say.

That has pretty much put me in a fantabulous mood even though it's six-thirty in the morning, I haven't slept, they are predicting another storm just as bad as the last one for tomorrow, and catalyst2 passed along some less than awesome news about the premiere date of season two of Dexter.

Yeah, that's my not-so-subtle way of poking you guys to go read ubi_es_calem's Tommy/Kevin-ish comment porns which are amazing.
