This is going to be a totally random entry, sorry, just warning you now.
So our power went out earlier, because the power company is running new, bigger lines around our neighborhood for the new ethanol plant (yay living directly under huge power lines! Cancer, \O/!) and of course, when our power goes out, my first instinct is to clean. Because really, when else am I going to do it? When we have power, I either want to be doing something on the computer or watching TV. And our power goes out often enough that it's a totally workable plan.
I think tonight my siblings, Allen, and I are going out to a cemetery and to this supposedly haunted house known only as "Hell." I don't even know. I've never heard of it and I've lived around here my whole life, but I suppose it's worth checking out. I told my sister and brother I didn't want to go unless Allen went, because he's one of those very skeptical, very logical people that does believe in the paranormal, but only when there's definite evidence, so he'll be pointing out that we're all idiots for getting scared and then I won't be as scared. :D Of course, I'd be much, much more enthused about going if I knew there was a chance I might run into a certain pair of brothers also doing some supernatural investigating... :D
Speaking of which! I watched the director's cuts for this weeks SPN, and DUDE. That last one, with Dean totally falling into a normal job so easily and looking like he's enjoying himself? KILLS me. Do we think he's ever worked a normal job before? I mean, even like a fast food place as a teenager, or anything? He just looked so comfortable, so happy to slip into that role if even for a little while, it makes me think he's never done anything but hunt before. And both John and Sam have, and maybe they forgot that he never had. And maybe Dean didn't even know he wanted it until he tried it. I can see him being a lot more sympathetic about Sam wanting a normal life from now on. On the other hand, I can't see Dean staying in a normal job even if he had the chance, after so many years as a hunter, knowing how much good they do. I think he'd get antsy, I think he'd miss the road. So maybe he'll be less sympathetic, not able to understand why Sam could turn his back on the life for good.
Someone, please, rec me or write me fic where Dean is working a normal job. Not AU, I mean, I want him to have been a hunter at some point, maybe he's done with that life or just taking a break or he has to do it to be undercover, but I need this like burning.
This is probably really lame of me to be so excited about, but I got my first non-flist (that I know of) rec today! Or found it today, at least. And I don't know if that's not something I should be as excited about as I am, but I'm pretty giddy and it means a lot to me, so. You know. If it's sad and lame, too bad. The weird thing is that it was for that Ryan/Kelly Office fic I wrote, which was my first (and probably only) fic in that fandom, and the first het fic I've posted for public consumption, so that's interesting. But also awesome!
And while we're on the subject, I have a couple recs of my own.
Before You Leave, 300, Gorgo/Leonidas, NC-17 by
schneestern. Seriously, hot and gorgeous and wonderful. The character insight is fantastic, and the sex is smokin'.
another bag of bricks, The Black Donnellys, Tommy/Jenny, Tommy/Kate, Tommy/Kevin if you squint, ensemble, PG-13 by
technosage. This is over ten thousand words, and it works better than an episode, in my opinion. The character voices are dead on, the tone is dark but funny in spots and bittersweet in others, just like the show, and the plot is believable and moves quick enough that when you hit the end, you really won't believe you've just read an eleven thousand-word story.
Also! The porning is ON over at
justthatdirty for the Heroes pornathon, so you should probably go write something hot and dirty and kinky.
I have a billion million things to be doing, and things I owe people and e-mails and comments to get back to, and like, ten trillion pages of my flist to catch up with (which, just so you know, will never happen, but I am aiming to get back to commenting regularly, so if I missed something important, let me know) but right now I'm gonna go shower (because yeah, I'm kinda skanky like that and haven't showered yet today) and possibly finish cleaning since I'm in the mood now and find something to eat!

and, yeah.
i'm over seventy five hundred words in my epic yaaaaaaaay.<33333shannon

Haha, YES. Totally. I mean besides that. :D I just pictured Dean in one of those McDonald's uniforms, with the hat and everything, and it made me so sad. Don't do it, Dean. Hooking is a much better option.
DUDE WHAT. That is AMAZING. I cannot wait to read this epic that I already know is made of awesome.

DUDE. I DON'T EVEN HAVE SLASHY PARTS YET. and it's like thirteen pages. NO SLASH! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? lol. i'm gonna stick some dean/sam in eventually, though, haha.
<333

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? Although I tend to think I'd love your gen just as much as your slash, so, you know. It's basically win/win for me. :D

and i might just have to write some myself.i'm currently striving for wendell/david/francis. or wendell/david. or ANYBODY/francis. because francis is <33333333.and, hahaha, dude i just ordered that movie, i love it so much. i'm gonna watch it about eighty seven thousand times when i get home. i don't care about the bad acting or anything, i think it's fucking awesome.
yeah, i was thinking about keeping it gen, just because it's not particularly heading for slash right now, but i wanna throw some sam/dean in there. just because i love it. <333

And if you write some maybe I will too. There really needs to be something like
Haha, like I'm gonna complain that you're throwing Dean/Sam in there, c'mon. :D

And I don't know, I could see Dean getting a few odd jobs here and there while hunting by himself. Because I imagine he'd take breaks between hunts, and credit card scams have to grow old at some point. And now I'm imagining him hiring himself out as one of those landscape workers, because that's easy enough of a job to get, which involves imagining him shirtless and sweaty. Mmm.

klajdfkljdsf sweaty!Dean. Dude, if I got a landscape worker that looked like Dean, he would not be working on my landscape. :D

Haunted house! I wanna come! Sounds cool. You should call the Winchesters though. ;)

If there were real Winchesters to call, baby, you better believe I would be seeing "ghosts" every other night. :D

I haven't been keeping up with TBD either! Actually I watched the latest episode at TWO IN THE MORNING last night because my friend keeps insisting that I'm really missing out on some cool stuff. So I still am two episodes behind, but the one I watched was pretty cool and apparently the one that comes next is her favorite episode out of the whole season so far, so I'm excited.
Five fucking years. Okay? He keeps Mohinder around ALL THAT TIME. Sylar TOTALLY has a crush on Mohinder, IT'S PRETTY MUCH CANON NOW. And he's the first person Sylar calls, slightly panicky, after that painting, and I'm all like "aaaah why do they keep feeding me the Mohinder/Sylar? WHY." And I keep eating it up. Oh, show, never stop.
I need to go watch Five Years Gone again, like, seventy billion times but only the part where Sylar-as-Nathan is talking to Mohinder because there is so much there.
This makes it easier to admit that I did this too. Ahem.
DUDE, did you notice how Sylar-as-Nathan was like, "I know how things work." THAT WAS SO COOL LMAO.
