(no subject)

It is so RIDICULOUSLY cold here today. It's supposed to be something like negative 25 tomorrow, wtf. Go away, weather.

I don't talk politics much here, but the caucus is Thursday night and I'm still undecided. HRM. I was leaning toward Clinton, and now I'm leaning toward Obama. I think my brother is going with me, even though he's only seventeen, he'll be eighteen by the election so he can still caucus. I'm thinking about calling up my sister that I don't even get along with and roping her into coming, too, just so there's another body.

Do any of you guys have a caucus/primary in your state, and if so, do you participate? This is my first year, so I'm a little...not nervous really, but unprepared, I suppose.

My brother and I watched No Country For Old Men last night and.... No, really. What? I suppose it didn't help that I was going into it expecting something way different. My brother just told me it was about this guy that found some money and he had to escape these other guys that wanted the money. So I'm expecting action, or at least some action. But I still didn't really get the point of the movie, and I suppose I'm revealing how dreadfully ignorant I am with that statement, but oh well. I've read that it's supposed to be less about plot and more about characters, but I didn't really see a lot of character development, either.

And then I wandered into the pit that is the IMDB boards, and now I'm more confused than ever. Some people are saying the sheriff's character is the same person as the killer's? That it was his alter ego, the part of him that couldn't stand the evil and injustice in the world that he as a sheriff couldn't do anything about. All right, I'll admit I'm kind of hoping that's the case, just because it would make the movie more interesting, but I didn't see any hints of that at all. And wasn't the killer more evil and unjust than a lot of the people he was killing?

IDEK.

I also watched I Am Legend and now desperately want Supernatural crossover fic, where Dean and or Sam have managed to survive and make their way to New York.

Happy New Year, bbs! ♥

Oh, well in that case I rec you every single Mylar fic by that author. Because. Sylar is so hopelessly fucked-upedly in love with Mohinder in them. And I love it. Also, ditto goes for you. XD It gets to the point where sometimes I'm scanning SPN fic and just SKIP anything that's from Sam's point of view, because I WANT OBSESSED DEAN. Haha, I think that kink started for me when I read this excellent Remus/Sirius fic where they're roommates, and Sirius STALKS REMUS SECRETLY when he goes to bars, and Remus knows, and I have been looking for that fic for years and can't find it again. XD

Also, Holmes/Watson (http://yuletidetreasure.org/archive/3/outof.html), based on the mystery of the three garridebs, my FAVORITE of the Holmes stories. Idk if you read Sherlock Holmes or not, but Watson almost dies and you see Holmes's deep loyalty to Watson, which is a completely big deal because usually, you know, Holmes = robot, and he totally went to the other dude, "If you had killed Watson, you would not have got out of this room alive." And it just made me all sniffly when I read it, when I was like TWELVE, even before I liked slash, so nowadays when I read it, I am hopeless. So this AU of that short story turned me into a WRECK. Homg.

PS: You fully fully need to do that minor character ficathon thing. It is the winningest idea evar.

I will probably have a very Mylariffic night, then. :D

♥!

You know, I think that's half the reason I love the idea of evil!Sam so much, not just because damn is he hot when he's evil, but because I can't picture evil!Sam without some major story between him and Dean. Either Dean fighting against Sam but them still loving each other other, etc., or Dean being Sam's right hand during his evil reign, even if hesitantly, or Sam going evil but keeping Dean safe even if Dean's completely against what he's doing. You know. I just love the idea that even as a monster, even if Sam went completely sociopathic, his love for Dean would be crazy/creepy/obsessive enough that there would still be this need/desire for him.

I don't read Sherlock Holmes at all, but um, yeah, that one line right there has hooked me, plus it's a rec from you so I'm all over it.

MAYBE I WILL. *ponders*

The most perfect moment in SPN for me was Dean selling his soul. Because it was the most unhealthy, obsessive reaction I could possibly have asked for Dean to have in reaction to Sam's death, and it was canon. Only fucking SPN.

Now I'm waiting for Dean to die. Because I want so badly for Sam to go into hell for Dean, and fetch him, Orpheus/Eurydice style. Ideally? Sam taps into his demon blood and becomes Evil Demon Jesus, general of hell's armies, maybe fight off some demon rivals who want his power, all so he can make his way into hell and save Dean.

(I think I have a THING for them dying. One of my favorite fics of yours? The one where Sam is dead in Dean's arms and Dean kisses him. It just STUCK with me.)

Ohhh, I bet you've already read shalott/astolat's fics, but though I usually prefer obsessive!Dean, Unasked (http://www.intimations.org/fanfic/supernatural/Unasked.html)'s obsessive!Sam makes me cry every. single. time. I am INCAPABLE of reading that fic without sobbing. Additionally, I just read Punxsatawney (http://www.intimations.org/fanfic/supernatural/Punxsutawney.html) by her for the first time. Twice in a row. Cried both times at broken Sammy.

Hahaha, the great thing about Sherlock Holmes fandom is that you barely even need to know anything about the fandom. Pop culture references will probably have given you all the backstory you need. Holmes is the rational detective, Watson is the loyal sidekick who chronicles their adventures. And they're in love. END.
